June 10-16, 2008
7 Days & 6 Nights
$1899 p/p & $99 tax
Join us as we travel for the third time to this lovely area of Canada for
a week of touring, exploring and enjoying the music, dance and
culture of this Celtic haven. Upon departure from Newark we will fly
directly to Halifax, where we will meet with our tour guide. We will
travel to pastoral Prince Edward Island, home to "Anne of Green
Gables". We will stay in Summerside and explore Cavendish and PEI
National Park. We will partake of the famous St. Anne's lobster
supper. Upon leaving PEI we travel on to Cape Breton. Craggy &
isolated, CBI is a culturally rich environment. Home to the MacMaster
family, the Rankins, Barra MacNeills, MacIsaacs among others, Cape
Breton is known for their tradition of fiddle, piano & stepdancing at
their "Kitchen Parties" or ceilidhs. We will stay at Dave MacDonald's
Normaway Inn with the onsite Barn where he holds ceilidhs and
concerts. While in Cape Breton we will enjoy the Normaway's gourmet
meals and visit the Highlands National Park, Acadian Cheticamp, Giant
McAskill's Museum, Gaelic College and the Highland Village Museum.
Our last day and evening will be spent in Halifax. This compact city is
easily walked and has many pocket parks, historic sites, shopping
areas, waterfront attractions and more to explore at leisure.
